Youth Surveys Done Right
The Community-Level Youth Development Evaluation (CLYDE) is a flexible youth survey that satisfies DFC and other grant-funded reporting requirements. CLYDE builds on the Communities that Care Youth Survey to collect current data on youth substance use prevalence, developmental risk and protective factors, and other key community characteristics.

Why Choose the CLYDE Survey?
EASY
Incorporating input from program directors, building leaders, survey administrators, and students themselves, CLYDE is designed to meet the needs of the whole community. With an average completion time of approximately 25 minutes, CLYDE provides a comprehensive assessment of youth substance use, developmental risk and protective factors, mental health, and access to substances in the community. |
AFFORDABLE
CLYDE is an affordable way to collect robust youth and community data. Perfect for grant-funded programs, small- to medium-sized community-based organizations, and community coalitions. With low minimum requirements for survey orders and flexible options for add-on services, CLYDE allows for a cost-effective, thorough community assessment. |
CURRENT
CLYDE incorporates questions on emerging substance use trends and community-level causes and conditions, using culturally responsive language. Highlights include:

While working towards the Drug Free Communities Grant, our community coalition was proud to partner with Dan and the CLYDE Survey team to obtain valuable reliable data. I can honestly say although we were up against the clock and didn't leave the CLYDE team much time, they blew away my expectations. The team was easy to communicate with, VERY quick with answering questions and preparing the results, and we now have survey data that is extremely beneficial for our coalition, our partner schools, and our community in general. THANK YOU CLYDE TEAM!

The CLYDE survey delivered the information that our coalition needs to help our youth live healthy drug-free lives. It is approved for use by our Drug Free Communities funder. What's more, it was stress-free to administer. The professionals behind the survey worked with us every step of the way. The schools appreciated the fact that every student could complete the entire survey in less than one school period.

The CLYDE Survey and CLYDE team made collecting our youth survey data easy, even during COVID. This helped us satisfy our DFC requirements while keeping current on youth substance use trends and developmental risk/protective factors. We got our results fast, and the reports are easy to share and use. We wholeheartedly recommend CLYDE!

A well informed community is in the best position to make positive and equitable changes in how we raise, educate, and involve our youth so they become successful citizens. With CLYDE, for the first time in the history of the Tompkins County survey we have a way to bring the consolidated county data directly to the public through an online dashboard.

The crosstab explorer is allowing us to easily dive deeper into the CLYDE data and help with creating logic models and action plans for the county and the individual school districts. Instead of wondering if there is a potential relationship between certain variables we are easily able to plug in the specific variables we are looking at to determine if there is a relationship between them. This is important and meaningful data for planning our programming and giving communities more clarity around what is behind some of the issues they are seeing which leads to more targeted interventions.
